Let's not forget that the people Paramount wants to win back are the more casual fans and not the (I say this kindly) nutheads like us who devote our time to debating technical minutiae in the Trek universe...

The irony of that is the fact that ENT, which was supposed to bring in new, casual viewers ended up alienating a good deal of the fan base. Hopefully they won't do the same here.
