I've just been promoted at work to "Head of Programming", no immediate pay rise but that's also in the pipeline.

Do you get a secretary? And does everyone have to call you "sir" now?
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

On a less happy note...
Bob is sick. I personally think that it is food poisoning (he was throwing-up every other hour last night). So, yeah, he's not feeling well at the moment.

Reliant, have fun, and again:
1.Assuming most of your trip to the Netherlands will be spent in Amsterdam, find some time to visit a recital in the concertgebouw. One of the best concert halls in the world.
2. De Wallen is boring. Loads and loads of women loking bored at yet another class of children running through their working area.
3. Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum are quite much a must.
4. When you get the time, The Central train station is quite interesting to see. Neogothic in style, I believe.
5. If the concertgebouw isn't an option, you could try the muziekgebouw aan het Y. Though I might warn you, the music played there is often very akin to noise, because it is sometimes a bit hard to hear it as music. Very modern.
6. Churches. Loads of churches, all af them having a very interesting story to tell.
7. Stroll along with the groups of guides that will be walking around with tourists.
8. Don't hesitate to ask around if you lost directions. We dutchmen are supposed to be very apt at speaking the English language.

You didn't. But you only misspelled one letter. Correct version: Noordwijk aan Zee.

Also, look at the houses of the merchants, Amsterdam is literally LITTERED with them and most of them have a history. Also look at what they look like, there is a wide range of variations on the same model. i don't know wether this link works, but it gives you an idea of wha you can expect to find there. http://nestor.rug.nl/courses/1/LKA008P0 ... ime_token=
