Under which Captain would you rather serve?
Re: Under which Captain would you rather serve?
Remember, Captain Tryla Scott, the youngest captain in Starfleet history as of TNG Season one "Conspiricy", who commanded the USS Renegade, was a women. Hell of an accomplishment for ANYBODY.
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.

I'd agree with Seafort on the meaning of this. It's clearly talking about Kirk's attatchment to the E and his devotion to his crew. The exact phrase was "your world of starship captains doesn't admit women".
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"

Yeah, I never even fathomed any other interpretation than the one Seafort mentioned.

Re: Under which Captain would you rather serve?
I would serve under Captain Picard without a second thought. (Especially if we we on the Enterprise-E)
My second choice would have to be...
Archer.
I know he's kind of a wus compaired to the other starfleet captains, but he's fair, and from the looks of the show, he tries to know everyone on the crew.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Re: Under which Captain would you rather serve?
I must confess not having read the whole thread - have I missed anything?
I would definetely serve under Picard. Good ship, great crew and fantastic captain!
I wouldn't mind serving under Kirk, if I get a blue or yellow shirt!
Janeway and Sisko would mostly be ok, but I would probably get into trouble for telling them not to torture people or poison atmospheres...
Of all the other Captains featured in Trek (I haven't yet seen Enterprise at all!), Commander Toreth of the Imperial Warbird Khazara (Face of the Enemy) has impressed me most!

New answer gang. I want to serve under Captain Mackensie Calhoun, of the USS Excalibur-A.
Hands down.

Re: Under which Captain would you rather serve?
I'm going to second a previous posting, which said something along the lines of "Kirk, so long as I don't have to wear a red shirt." I agree. I loved TNG and Captain Picard, and would serve under him without hesitation. But there is something to be said for that "Cowboy Diplomacy", isn't there?

Nobody like to serve under Captain Riker of the Titan????

Sure people would, they just prefer others.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Not if it meant I had to put up with Troi's meddling every time I had a slightly bad day

The man who lost the Enterprise twice, first to a bunch of Ferengi and then to an obsolete heap of junk? No thanks.Mark wrote:Nobody like to serve under Captain Riker of the Titan????
