Re: The Doomsday Machine
A bit of overkill, but better than underkill!
Re: The Doomsday Machine
I wonder who would win, the doomsday machine or V'ger...

Re: The Doomsday Machine
We don't really have an idea of V'Ger's full capabilities, but I'd wager it would make the DM disappear pretty quick. V'Ger vs the Borg would also be comical to see.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

Re: The Doomsday Machine
Baa.....V'ger could even overpower a refit Connies shields in one shot. Wouldn't even scratch the paint of a DM, and it may take out one Borg ship, before they adapt.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
I don't think the Borg could adapt to V'gers weapons.
Also, remember that V'ger was ready to digitize Earth, I think the DM would be easy for it.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
We are talking about solid neutronium. I'm not saying the DM could BEAT V'ger, but I really don't think V'ger could destroy the DM, either.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
It wouldn't destroy the DM. It would turn it into data. Unfortunatly, we have no idea onthe method of digitization, or why it was blocked (for one shot) by the E's shields.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
I just don't think neutronium would break apart that easily, however the method, be it digitization, vaporization, carbonization, or what not.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
I doubt that even Nuetronium could stand up to the power it would take to digitize a whole planet... it would just take longer to digitize.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
Well, as I understand it, neutronium would be alot denser that Earths planetary crust. Remember, the DM literally eats planets for breakfast as well.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
So what if it is dense. While density can block phasers, digitization is different. As long as it can digitized the atoms that the DM is made of, it can digitize the entire thing, it just takes different amounts of time.

Re: The Doomsday Machine
But does V'ger have the nessessary power to digitize that much neutronium???
