Americans don't like minds anymore, they like simple explanations and pretty smiles and ... OOOOOOOH! shi-ney me-tal!

Re: Most useless ship I've ever seen
I won't call the Runabout useless, as we all know that they ARE useful little ships, for what they are. But can somebody please explain to me why they kept seeing combat uses??? They are ok against comparably sized ships, but next to useless against anything bigger.

Air Tram. Definitely. Why have a clunky taxi-thing when you have that cool transporter sitting there waiting to scramble your atoms?

Because it's safer?

I think we've had several discussions on that subject already.

Re: Most useless ship I've ever seen
Impulse only shuttlecraft also fit into this category.

Re: Most useless ship I've ever seen
What's wrong with them? The ship they're on has a warp drive, so there's little need for the shuttle to have one itself as its role is merely to shuttle personel from area A to area B. Add in the fact that building a warp drive and core that small probably costs a hell of a lot, and I can see why they'd build impulse-only vessels.

Re: Most useless ship I've ever seen
It's a matter of usefulness. Impulse only shuttles are SEVERELY limited in the roles that they can play and their overall usefulness. If I had a choice of 100 warp capable shuttles or 500 impulse shuttles, which one would make more sense to take?

I'd take door number 3, a combination of them.
