Re: Scimitar vs. Soverign
Yet another inconsistency to punch its hole through the ragged and poorly knit canvas of Nemisis.

Who cares? It still sucked.Nitpick: NEM battle was named, it would be the battle of the Bassen Rift.

Re: Scimitar vs. Soverign
At least the problem with Worf was due to bad editing rather than bad writing - as originally filmed (or scripted, I can't remember which) it was mentioned that the ambassadorial role didn't suit him, and he'd rejoined Starfleet (and the Enterprise). There was a similar scene involving Crusher leaving to become head of Starfleet Medical (again, IIRC).

Why bother offering the written plausible explanations to the audience?

Re: Scimitar vs. Soverign
Why would Worf be wearing ambasadorial clothing when going to the wedding on Betazed... they don't wear clothes for weddings. So it isn't a inconsistancey.

But they DO wear clothes on Federation ships on the way to Betazed.stitch626 wrote:Why would Worf be wearing ambasadorial clothing when going to the wedding on Betazed... they don't wear clothes for weddings. So it isn't a inconsistancey.

Re: Scimitar vs. Soverign
Exactly... There are two possible options, personnally I like the first;Mikey wrote:But they DO wear clothes on Federation ships on the way to Betazed.stitch626 wrote:Why would Worf be wearing ambasadorial clothing when going to the wedding on Betazed... they don't wear clothes for weddings. 1) As Seafort mentioned it was written in an early script that Worf had decided to give up being a diplomat, which I am sure would not have been very pleasant news for Martok.
2) He retained his military rank even when assigned as an ambassador and thus was dressed appropriately, this option however fails to cover the other problems such as why no one mentioned Worf was replacing the regular Tactical Officer and why Worf immediately jumped into action with the rest of our merry band before they knew they were facing danger...
Edit: I actually shouldn't say I like the first option, more that I find it the more reasonable answer...

Re: Scimitar vs. Soverign
I have to say, Picard shows terrible judgment with Worf. Every time he comes aboard Picard puts him in charge of Tactical. Can you imagine what that does to the ship's own Tactical officers? Whoever is actually in that role on the E-E must feel about an inch tall every time it happens, and his own department can only view it as a massive vote of no confidence in their boss from the Captain.

Re: Scimitar vs. Soverign
I was just thinking that too. I would quit. Give me a transfer to a smaller ship, send me to a Starbase, whatever. I'd actually HATE Picard, if I was the Tactical Officer, and he kept thrusting me aside for someone else.GrahamKennedy wrote:I have to say, Picard shows terrible judgment with Worf. Especially since that person was someone who wasn't even a tactical officer anymore. It never made sense why Worf would take 'step-down' to be a Tactical officer in the last two movies. Unless he thought taking a week off from Strategic Operations Officer of DS9 and a command track to shoot torpedoes for a week is a vacation. Or Martok was just that hard to handle as Chancellor. But yeah, I would definitely want a transfer from the E-E if I kept getting thrust aside.
