I generally assume that higher warp speeds puts increased wear on the engines and massively increases fuel consumption. Just like modern day warships can go at 32 knots, but most often tootle around at half that or so to save fuel and wear, I assume that Starships are similar. Why increase your fuel consumption massively just to get somewhere in four days rather than two?

I can live with that...........but we'd likely be talking weeks instead of days though, right? Or even months if far enough away.

I guess it would just get chalked up to 'Captain's discretion.' Or it might have to do with how busy the space lanes are around the area that they are heading towards, and how critical it is that they get to a certain place in a certain amount of time. Seems to me in space travel if you have months to spare, why use up resources getting there? And I'm sure most captains don't have to deal with the anomaly of the week that seems to plague the show's captains every time we see them.

Well, months are STILL a significant amount of time. Months of only routine duty and such. That would so suck.

It would definitely suck to do the same stuff day after day....wait, I'm doing that at my job now. Oh well. But with space travel, it seems to me that it would only be practical that it would take quite a while to get from place to place. Unless you ask B&B. Then it takes as long as you need it to.

I think you'll fit in here just fine, Rouge01.

BTW, is that a typo for "Rogue," or are you in fact red?

Yeah, noticed that typo myself. Just PM Graham and ask him to change your name. He's never had any issues with changing names in the past (Hal/Grundig and Shi Who Must Not Be Named come to mind).
