Sounds like you've found the perfect wife, RK.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Finally got a promotion at work, complete with a day shift post. I started today for some training but my normal days will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I've been working night shifts for 3 or 4 years now I didn't realize how much it had caught up with me. It's weird to wake up and not feel like it's the wrong time of day. I know feeling normal and being excited about it won't last long, but for now I feel great!

I've got a good/bad situation atm.
Good - i'm off to the Tate Modern Gallery with the school tomorrow. That should be interesting, I'm doing an art GCSE shortcourse this year.
bad - I've got the hints of either an ear infection or sinusitis.

That really bites Reliant. Those are right up there with a toothache and a burn as the most damn painful of all ailments.

Luckily, i have an abnormally high pain threshold. When i had appendicitis (i never get small infections...only big ones once in a while =D), the doctor was worried whether it was appendicitis because i wasnt screaming wildly like i should be. I just sat and occasionally tensed my toes.

Sorry to hear about your ailment, Reliant. I'd suggest chicken soup, but I don't know if it works as well for gentiles.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Most painful event of my life happened about a month back, and it's a really uncool way to get a scar
I'd just drove to the shop to get some beer, came back to the car, put the beer on the seat in the passenger side, then as I was still kind of leaning over the car, I shut the door really, really hard. The corner of the door must have been a diamond coated razor or something, it scraped along my stomach, ripping my t-shirt and cutting open my stomach. I just keeled over, but was too embarrassed (still being outside the shop on a busy road) to shout or scream, so all people would have seen would have been me, virtually crouched on the floor struggling to breathe, before attempting to man up, pretending nothing had happened, and drive home before going to the hospital

Sorry about your injury, but being able to man up and hold it in = win.

I've found that toothaches hurt, but I've burned myself so many times I don't feel it anymoreThose are right up there with a toothache and a burn as the most damn painful of all ailments.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
In my youth, I decided it would be a good idea to have a "sword fight" with my friend, using two wooden training katanas. We went at it, and I was embarrassing him, tapping him on the chest, back, arms, and legs almost at will. I started showboating and flipping the sword around my hand and dropped it of course. I went to retrieve it as he lunged. I twisted at the last minute, but the point was SHARP!!! Went threw my t-shirt, skirted my ribs, and out the back of my shirt. Blood started flowing. My friends mom walked in right then, and thought I'd been impailed. Being a responsible adult and cool headed in a crisis, she promptly fainted. I still proudly wear the scar to this day.

I've got a lovely carpet burn on my elbow after been dragged off the sofa by my drunken friends before a near-customary drunken pile on. Nothing's quite like the stinging pain of a paper cut though, particularly on the webbing between your fingers.
