Re: Star Trek: Picard | Final Season Trailer | Paramount+ (spoilers)
The Mrs and I are currently re-watching seasons 1 through to 7 of TNG. I think that'll stand us in good stead for when we watch S3 of Picard. I'm looking forward to seeing how Moriarty and Lore fit in. I'm glad it's all in the can before anything happens to Patrick Stewart. Perhaps the Skin Of Evil ...

Re: Louise Fletcher has passed away at 88
Her character went to join the Pah Wraiths, surely, but let's hope she's with the Prophets. RIP.

Re: Best Trek in years
Yeah, I guess at this point in RL Trek history, the writers had a decision to make: wear the straitjacket of canon and please the purists, or go for the more freeing 'interpretation' angle. This ain't your father's ST for sure! But I like what they're doing so far and I hope it continues. You can't ...

I'm now four episodes in and loving it so far. That's how you do modern Trek. All the characters are perfectly cast as well. And I have to admin being a little bit nuts for La'an Noonien-Singh

Re: How long before the USA has a second civil war?
Absolutely. I could see a civilian civil war. Wasn't that what Jan 6th was essentially about?

How long before the USA has a second civil war?
I'm being serious. Months? Years? Decades?

Re: Star Trek: Picard | Season 2 Trailer (Spoilers)
For me, the whole of series 2 came about because – and this isn't too much of a reach – all the writers were sitting around sharing ideas and someone mentioned both TNG Tapestry and TNG Family. It snowballed from there, and a few execs decreed that the writers must also include a sickly amount of fa...

Re: Posting images
OK, seems I've had a bit of success posting an image using the img 'open and shut'. I got a Google Photos photo to post but only after I right-clicked on the image and 'opened in new tab' to reveal the full, proper URL with .jpg at the end. However, any other tips or insider knowledge would be great...

Re: Trek and your everyday life
Star Trek brings me comfort, and building my old scale-models was really fun. I'm glad i've got pretty much all of it on DVD so I can go back and revisit it. A...DVD? Is that, like, one of these? https://www.yourprops.com/movieprops/original/yp5cb8f72e012500.46145613/Star-Trek-First-Contact-Zefram-...

Hi Ian. What's the best way to post an inline image these days? I've tried the 'insert image' hyperlink. Never seems to work despite the underlying image being suitable. The 'GoogleDriveImage' I suppose, is a little obsolete now as Google Photos is the thing now and photos no longer backup to GDrive...

Re: Small-minded, petty things you hate...
On a busy beach recently where a young family (middle aged parents and two young kids under 8) particularly the mother and father, continued to loudly act as though they were in private. And you could tell they thought everyone couldn't get enough of them. mf's, have some self-awareness, please. Sav...

Re: Trek and your everyday life
Star Trek has literally saved my life several times over. I had an absolutely shit time as a child, and it hasn't gotten much better, and at the age of eight when I had no one to turn to, I found Star Trek. It inspired me to create my own universe, and I have been doing that now for more than 30 ye...

Re: Trek and your everyday life
I saw the one man production of 'A Christmas Carol' with PS on Broadway..at one point, he lost his place and the audience knew it..so he broke the fourth wall and said 'it happens' and laughed and got right back to business. Great show, much better than the full tv version by a long shot.. During a...

Re: Trek and your everyday life
... Have enjoyed and not enjoyed the nuTrek tv series on offer, which I have lots of conversations about with my guy at home. It's not really Star Trek anymore, but I think we need to get over it and just accept that time, TV and societal attitudes have changed, and we'll never get back to what was ...

Re: Trek and your everyday life
How nice! :D Hey, you went to the Vegas Trek exhibit! I had the pleasure in 2007 when it was still at the Hilton. I often think about it. I got a few terrific photos of me in a Borg alcove and in the NCC1701D captain's chair. And not to mention Quark's Bar. The 3D rides were awesome, but I'm afraid ...
