I would have thought they'd take the old Daedalus out of the attic. After all that was a ship of about that age. More advanced and rounded then the DY-100 but still a long way from the 1701. Although t might have attracted fewer semi-fans or non-fans it might have been a gift to the hard-core fans.

Personally I think star trek has gone a bit to aggressive and the fact three of its series were in the same time-frame bored me a bit.
