Re: Smart watch
I've an original Pebble Watch. One of the cheapest available, works 3 or 4 days on 1 charge easily, and has an electronic ink screen so its readable in daylight. Its far from a necessity, but its damn useful. When my playing music from my phone through speakers at work I can control the media player...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Now we need Indiana, Han, Captain Picard and Professor X all to meet. :D Striker, that's your forte -- get on it! :P Well, Picard and Obi-Wan Kenobi have already met . You know, I completely forgot that Sir Patrick Stewart was in that.[/quote] One of the best things the BBC has ever done. So many g...

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
And The War of the World's set in its original time period.
Edit: Just reread Grahames original post - aching to see The Thunderchild bought to life too. And Tripods.

Marvel's Daredevil
Am only 2 episodes into it but its been terrific so far. The end of Episode 2 has one hell of a fight scene.
Lots of sly references to The Avengers too.

Re: SF Debris Reviews David Lynch's "Dune"
As an aside, did anyone else find the sequels to decrease exponentially in quality as they went on chronologically? (I won't even mention Brian Herbert's books. ) Yeah - I got about 3 books into the sequels. The first 2 sequels - I felt like I didn't know the characters, I couldn't relate th...

Same. I lost track of the big series conspiracy arcs and stopped watching.Nutso wrote:I preferred their Monster-of-the-Week episodes over the series' Mythology.

Also, let's not forget the cast. Kyle MacLachlan (of course, Lynch's golden boy,) Freddie Jones, Brad Dourif, Richard Jordan, Sting (who was better in this than in Quadrophenia,) Dean Stockwell, Max von Sydow, Jurgen Prochnow, Sean Young, and some bald guy from a later sci-fi series And a very youn...

Re: SF Debris Reviews David Lynch's "Dune"
Most definitely my fave book, read it over a dozen times and could read it again easily. Saw the film before reading the book and have a soft spot for it, but it doesn't do the book justice. The mini series wasn't bad but not nearly long enough. Imho the only failing of the film is that it should ha...

Yes, but then enemy planes can avoid detection by disguising themselves as cows - a tactic known as Coming in Udder the Radar.

Always loved the Nebula too. Such a practical design.
One of my fave episodes too. Picard is almost as good at preventing wars as Sisko is at starting them.
