Re: Star Trek XI Romulan Weapons
I agree with all of that. It's a ridiculous design, as I was the first one to mention. However, here's where that analysis fails to be relevant: Nero's rifles however have an added feature that seems to be purely cosmetic and would prevent a person from holding it as a rifle. So one either has to h...

Re: Star Trek XI Romulan Weapons
The civilian and military rifles however are still used pretty much the same way. Butt stock to shoulder, hand on trigger, other gripping up front, cheek to stock in order to look through an aiming device on top. The differences between them are in the extras the military rifle has in order to make ...

Re: Star Trek XI Romulan Weapons
Lever actions. They still not only exist, but are popular. However, they have severe limitations - they are restricted to revolver calibers, they can't be fired from a prone position, and the user takes his life (or at least his investment) in his hands if he uses spitzer bullets (they use tubular ...

Re: Star Trek XI Romulan Weapons
That would depend...first off, is it only for display, because if yes, than any weirdness about it can be dismissed as it having never meant to be used. If no, and it possesses little extras that not only do not improve it's use as a weapon, but rather hamper it (or more accurately, the user), then ...

Re: Star Trek XI Romulan Weapons
True, but how long did we see any of those guns being used for? Maybe a few dozen shots each?

Re: Star Trek XI Romulan Weapons

Re: Is DS9 against the Star Trek ethos?
I'm not really sure I see the philosophical difference between the TOS and TNG per episode conflict that pits the crew vs some strange alien whats-it, and the DS9 per episode conflict that pits the crew vs some strange alien whats-it, that happened to be connected to a greater over arching story lin...
