Re: omega directive
Funny that, I observed perfection whilst she was observing perfection. Heh. Thought it had a nice little tie in with Seven knowing all about the directive being an ex-Borg and the knowledge they would have gained from assimilating Starfleet captains. They used the plural so I'm assuming that as wel...

Re: "Ensign" Seven of Nine
I must have a thing for women in uniform because I always preferred Troi and Seven when they were conforming to starfleet dress codes. Much sexier than those absurd catsuits.

Re: You're hired to improve VOY
The last season of Voyager begged to be serialized. Instead of a motley assortment of average Trek episodes, why not write a thrilling final chapter and lead Voyager home?

Re: omega directive
From what I remember it was a "meh" episode overall, with the scientific and procedural nonsense being compensated for by Seven's desire to observe perfection.

Well there was that one dude in TNG's Up the Long Ladder.Mark wrote:I don't think you can GET more Irish than Chief O'Brien was supposed to be.
Re: Macrocosm
I don't think I'll ever forget Macrocosm; the hilarity of Action Kathryn vigorously stabbing a giant virus is etched into my brain. The episode could have been salvaged if it had been conscious of its own absurdity, but no, it was just so damn serious about it all.

You probably have a point; I haven't watched the episode closely in years. Thank you for the welcome.Mikey wrote:See, I appreciated the humor in "Rascals" but the ep's faults still shine through. Welcome, BTW.

Re: The 8 Most Shamefully Stupid Star Trek: TNG Episodes
As to the 8 stupid episodes - I didn't mind "Rascals", its humour saved it from being a terrible episode. I'd be inclined to bump "The Naked Now" up to the #2 slot; it's just painful to watch. Although without it, we wouldn't be able to belt out "The Sexy Data Tango".

Re: The 8 Most Shamefully Stupid Star Trek: TNG Episodes
I don't think all the blame for the lack of homosexuality in Trek can be laid at the writers' feet; they have to answer to the directors, showrunners, who also have to answer to network execs, etc. It's a serious omission, but society's been pretty slow at accepting the full scope of human sexuality.
Re: Genesis
I was something like 7 or 8 when Genesis first aired - and it scared the crap out of me. Not so much anymore.

Re: I Hate Enterprise
I didn't have a problem with Enterprise's "mindless wandering"; remember that Star Fleet is relatively new, the Humans have mapped very little of the galaxy, met few species. They certainly have few missions out in deep space - beyond exploration itself. Contact with Starfleet is sporadic,...
