A subspace field triggered by the USS Enterprise affects large areas of the alpha and beta quadrants causing singing and acting as if part of a musical. The fold was eventually closed by the USS Enterprise performing a a huge final number featuring the entire crew, as well as some unsuspecting Klingons. [2]
