Review : This seemed like a good idea back in the day...
Title : Code of Honor Rating : 5
Writers : Michael Barren, Kathryn Powers Year : 2364
Review : I like it now. It is not outside the parameters of reason to assume that any hominids would tend to look something like Africans if they were descendants of anything like Australopithecus. I just don't agree with anyone anymore.
Title : Where No One Has Gone Before Rating : 5
Writers : Diane Duane, Michael Reaves Year : 2364
Review : Older and wiser now, I realize this episode is precisely written (listen to the dialogue from the beginning). This is about communication, like Darmok, but the message is written into the episode. Kind of like it's a secret or something, which it is. The characters are speaking to the audience more than they are to each other. It's just so evident to me now, it bothers me that I had not noticed it before. Many episodes are written like this. I think this is, like, the prevailing theme of Star Trek or something.
Title : The Battle Rating : 2
Writers : Larry Forrester Year : 2364
Review : Even when they're supposed to be menacing, the Ferengi just come across as comical. I really can't take the episode seriously with the Ferengi being the main antagonist. Along with the fact that the Stargazer would be obliterated by the Enterprise. Although when Picard tried to do the Picard Maneuver on the Enterprise, I did get a good laugh when they simply put a tractor beam on the Stargazer. Only one word came to mind... "FAIL!"
