Riiight! Who thought this was a good idea? Putting three of the cast into a terrible story, naturally gives us a terrible story. SURELY someone should have spotted that! As for the story itself, well, they did their best with it. It was strange seeing Patrick Stewart - who seemed to regard the story with considerable distaste - trying to act his way out of the story, but there was not much he could do. As a send-up, this might have worked, but not as a simple story. Finally, if Colonel Richey thought this was bad, it could have been far worse. Someone with more literary taste might have brought (for instance) "Nineteen-Eighty-Four"... |
