Review : This novel reminds me little bit of a cross between the TNG episodes "Transfigurations" and "The Offspring". The Enterprise encounters a ship full of androids who have left their home planet, Vemla. Everything's hunky-dory until the organic inhabitants of Vemla came to claim the androids as rebels who are "their property". It becomes a Data story, as he has encountered beings like himself. He develops protective tendencies when the Vemlans come to claim the androids. All in all this is a good read and a quick one.
